Pete Carlson of Northfield remembers blowing snow and strong winds on his Monday flight from Minneapolis to Toronto. It felt like a normal flight — until it wasn’t.
Carlson was one of 76 passengers on Flight 4819, which crash-landed at the Toronto airport and ended up upside-down. Miraculously, all 76 passengers and four crew members survived, some with injuries.
“The world kind of became the row in front of you and the row behind you,” Carlson told MPR News host Tom Crann on All Things Considered.
“And everyone worked well together and communicated and bonded very strongly in a short order.”
