First lawsuit filed by passenger in Toronto plane crash

Stephen Swanson at WCCO News reports Delta Air Lines is facing their first lawsuit over the CRJ-900 aircraft that crash landed in Toronto. In a newly filed lawsuit, the passenger says being “suspended upside down” and “drenched with jet fuel” caused him “severe emotional distress and mental anguish.” He says he also suffered “significant injuries to his head, neck, back, knees and face.”

Tommy Wiita at Bring Me the News reports a transgender man has filed a lawsuit against Walmart, claiming he was frequently harassed by supervisors when he was an employee at its West St. Paul store as a teenager.

Via the Associated Press: UnitedHealth Group shares tumbled early Friday on a report that the U.S. Department of Justice has started an investigation into the health care giant’s Medicare billing practices.

Via KARE 11: A plan was unveiled Thursday to update the area around Allianz Field in St. Paul’s Midway. The plan is to turn a big empty parking lot into a space with offices, a hotel and restaurants. Organizers also showed off plans for a music venue and green space.

Dana Ferguson at MPR News reports moving boxes and trucks were spotted Thursday at the temporary residence for Gov. Tim Walz and his family, signaling an approaching end to the relocation that took place while the traditional governor’s mansion was undergoing renovations.

Maury Glover at FOX 9 is reporting safety improvements along University Avenue in Minneapolis could mean Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room would no longer exist.
