The sole showdown in Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race takes place Friday on MPR News.
Democratic nominee Peggy Flanagan and Republican nominee Michele Tafoya appear in their only scheduled debate of a campaign that has crept into national view.
While many other states have seen more expensive contests, recent poll margins in the Minnesota race have been in the low single digits with Flanagan having a slight edge.
The winner will fill the seat that Democratic Sen. Tina Smith will depart in January.
Flanagan is Minnesota’s lieutenant governor. Tafoya is a former sports broadcaster making her first run for office.
