
Paul Walsh at the Star Tribune reports: “A Minneapolis mother’s call to 911 reporting that one of her infant twins was gasping for air sent police to the home, where they found her children on separate visits one night had ingested fentanyl and were near death, according to a child protection order.”
Paul Walsh also reports: “A mother has identified her son as the teenager who was left with numerous injuries after being ambushed by a group of fellow Edina High School students in the city’s YMCA last month. Abeba Guche said son Elroi Beyene, 16, suffered brain injuries, a cut below one eye, bruises and several other injuries from the Dec. 20 attack at the Y in the 7300 block of York Avenue S.”
WCCO’s Johah Kaplan reports: “A months-long WCCO investigation found 19 hospitals in Minnesota slashing or relocating services since 2022, and they include everything from obstetrics to surgeries to mental health and beyond.”
From the Rochester Post-Bulletin: “Rochester police say the fire that displaced 20 residents at Falcon Landing Apartments earlier this month was set intentionally.
“According to a release from the Rochester Police Department, Richard Dalton, 46, of Rochester, initially told investigators that the fire started on Jan. 6 when he fell asleep with a cigarette. Evidence later indicated that Dalton started the fire, the release said.”
From FOX 9: A pet-friendly domestic violence shelter is opening in Blaine. Linus’ Pet Haven, a shelter for domestic violence victims and their pets, has opened in Blaine. It’s an extension of Alexandra House’s Emergency Shelter program.
