Adam Uren at Bring Me the News reports: “A Belle Plaine man has been indicted on federal hate crime charges for allegedly assaulting a Black man outside a bar last year.
“Minnesota U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger announced that Justin Kudla, 35, who was already facing state-level assault charges over the Feb. 3, 2024, assault, is now indicted with one count of interference with federally protected activities and one count of a hate crime.”
From the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder: “Brooklyn Park received a major boost in support of its youth, thanks to a generous $100,000 donation announced on Jan. 6. The contribution comes from a partnership between the Minnesota CHILL Foundation and the Thielen Foundation.”

“Sen. Mike Bousselot, R-Ankeny, announced the proposal to enter into negotiations with Iowa’s northern neighbor on Tuesday in remarks at the Land Investment Expo.”
Felicity Dachel at KARE 11 reports: “This year on Feb. 14, 10 district courts across the state will be offering free weddings, up from just one a few years ago.”
From CCX Media: “A new women’s clinic in Plymouth is on a mission to educate people about a topic they say is often misunderstood: menopause. … The clinic is partnering with Plymouth’s Rock Elm Tavern this week to screen a documentary called ‘The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause.’” The film screening at Rock Elm Tavern is Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.
