Odell Beckham Jr.’s reunion with the New York Giants was fun while it lasted, sort of.
The 33-year-old wide receiver signed with the Giants in June in a nostalgia-filled move that reunited him with the franchise that drafted him 12th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, but the three-time Pro Bowler is now set to be released three games into the season.
The NFL shared the news of Beckham’s expected release on social media.

Beckham’s release comes just a few days after the Giants’ win over the Tennessee Titans, a game in which he received his first target of the regular season. His second stint in New York will come to a close without hauling in a catch.
OBJ spent the first five seasons of his career with the Giants as a face of the franchise alongside quarterback Eli Manning and recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in four of five seasons to begin his career.

The Cleveland Browns acquired Beckham ahead of the 2019 season, which is where he spent three seasons before single-season stints with the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins from 2021-2024.
