Minnesota has blown by the early voting numbers for a midterm election.
Nearly 729,000 people have voted already in person, by mail or through an absentee ballot as of Friday morning, according to data from the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office. That's considerably more than any other nonpresidential year election in Minnesota.
The state could reach or exceed 1 million votes prior to Election Day given the number of absentee ballots requested and the fact that in-person voting locations will be open this weekend and on Monday.
Regular polling places on Election Day open at 7 a.m and any eligible voter in line by 8 p.m. will be able to cast a ballot.
